Lion Not Enjoying Her New Vegan Diet

As a lion, I never really liked chasing down antelopes, zebras, and wildebeests. I felt guilty every time I would kill and eat another animal. Plus I kept hearing that meat is bad for your health so I finally made the decision to switch to a vegan diet, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride.

I know the “scientists” will tell you that lions have been eating meat for millions of years and that eating like our ancestors will give us the optimal nutrition- a so called “proper lion diet.” They tell us that lions are carnivores. I find that offensive.

I mean, I don’t feel like a carnivore! I don’t want to kill and eat other animals! Besides, what if lions are naturally plant eaters? What if a plant based diet is actually healthier? How would we know if we never tried it? Besides I saw lots of other lions on social media saying how much healthier a plant based diet is, so I decided to give it a try.

I made the switch and at first it was great. I started to enjoy my new diet of fruits, veggies, and grains. I felt happier, like I was doing the right thing as I was munching on some tasteless grass. But then, something strange started to happen.

I began to feel sick all the time. My stomach was always churning, and I had no energy to hunt or play. I got acne. My joints were sore. I felt hungry all the time, no matter how much I ate. I gained fat. I had gas and heartburn. I had brain fog and I felt depressed all the time. Now, I’m not sure what to do.

Maybe I’ll try to incorporate some supplements into my diet and see how that goes.

Maybe I’ll try taking these 15 different medications my doctor prescribed for me.

Or maybe I’ll just go back to eating meat.
